Visit to MTRH by Pharmacy and Poisons Board-Pharmacovigilance unit

Pharmacy and poisons Board-Pharmacovigilance unit team led by Dr Pamela Nambwa and Dr Mercy Siyoi came to give technical support to our Covid-19 vaccination center.

They emphasized on Targeted spontaneous reporting (TSR) of vaccination AEFIs.

They observed our vaccine receiving and storage processes, vaccination process at the vaccination center which include receiving Covid-19 vaccine, counselling and collation of AEFIs reported by vaccines.

Dr Pamela Nambwa said that she was very impressed by the work done at MTRH in terms of safely monitoring of vaccines.

The set-up of the Covid-19 vaccination center is a model that should be cascaded to other regions and a good learning practise.
