AG. DIRECTOR GENERAL HEALTH VISITS MTRH
Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) CEO Dr. Wilson K. Aruasa, MBS yesterday (22nd November, 2019) received the Ag. Director General for Health, Dr. John Wekesa Masasabi to discuss Hospital Strategic issues with the Hospital Board during MTRH Full Board meeting chaired by Board Chairman Hon. Doyo Godana.
Before he made a tour of major Hospital projects ongoing and those completed, Dr. Masasabi lauded the Hospital’s leadership that has positioned MTRH as the best public Hospital in the Country.
The CEO thanked the Ag. Director General and the Ministry of Health for the leadership that has enabled MTRH be the number one position not in Kenya, but in East and Central Africa.
The Ag.Director General later toured Radiotherapy bunkers, the finishing civil/ electrical works ahead of supply, delivery, installation, testing and commissioning of a Brachytherapy machine, Linear Accelerator and Treatment Planning System for Cancer Treatment at MTRH.
The Government of Kenya has partnered with the International Atomic Energy Agency( IAEA) to avail these important and highly strategic equipment to support the national fight against Cancer.
While speaking in his office, the CEO also asked Ministry to continue supporting the Hospital in any way because it’s all geared towards helping the people of this great Nation.
The Ag. DG Health while speaking, highly commended the good in MTRH and promised to work closely with the Hospital in improving Health Care.
The Ministry of Health lauded the Hospital for its outstanding leadership in Clinical Operations & Standards.
The Strategic issues discussed were in : Clinical/ Hospital Operations; People Management/ Human Resources for Health; Audit, Risk Management and Compliance ; and Financial & Strategic Issues
