CEO RECEIVES JOINT HOSPITAL INSPECTION TEAMS FROM EAST AFRICA REGION

MTRH Chief Executive Officer Dr. Wilson K. Aruasa MBS, yesterday received Hospital and Intervarsity inspection team from the East African Region. The Team is the 3rd Joint East Africa Community Inspection of University Medical & Dental Schools in the East Africa Partner States.

While addressing the team in his Boardroom, Dr. Aruasa, enumerated the Hospital’s Mandate as a National Teaching and Referral Hospital,level 6B, whose clients currently come from the entire East African Region.

The CEO noted the crucial role that collaboration and partnerships play in ensuring that EAC healthcare institutions provide quality healthcare services.

The CEO also mentioned MTRH unique specialized services such as Kidney and Corneal Transplants as well as Open Heart Surgeries, Cardiology and Oncology. The visit was aimed at ensuring adherence to the set standards on medical and dental training across the EAC. The Team Leader Dr. Vuguziga Thadee was pleased with MTRH’s role and achievement in Providing Healthcare services in Western Kenya and across the Border to Uganda and South Sudan. While representing Moi University College of Health Sciences ,the Ag. Principal Prof. Kuremu Tenge lauded the symbiotic partnership between MTRH and Moi University.

The Inspection Team was drawn from; Kenya, Rwanda, Zanzibar, Uganda, Tanzania and Burundi. The East African Team was led by Dr. Vuguziga Thadee, Dr. Jackson Kioko, Dr. Nzeyinana Shabenana Sylvain, Prof. M. Lofti, and Dr. Semeji Shaban. MTRH members of the Management were Senior Director, Clinical Services, Dr. Philip Kirwa and Director Nursing Services, Mr. Titus Tarus. Also present were Dr. Julia Songok, Associate Dean Moi University School of Medicine and Prof. Kuremu Tenge, Ag.Principal, College of Health Sciences, Moi University.
