Uasin Gishu Governor, Hon. Jonathan Bii, today morning visited victims of Thursday night\u2019s petroleum tanker explosion along the Eldoret\u2013Turbo Road, near Paul Boit Secondary School, at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH).
\u200e
\u200eHe was received by Dr. Andrew Wandera, Senior Director of Clinical Services, and Dr. Tarus Kipchumba, Senior Director of Administration and Finance. He visited patients in the general wards and Intensive Care Unit (ICU), where critically injured survivors are receiving treatment.
\u200e
\u200eThe explosion occurred following a road accident involving a petroleum tanker. Three people have died, reportedly after attempting to siphon fuel from the vehicle before it ignited.
\u200e
\u200eMTRH has received 22 survivors, 10 of whom are in critical condition, with burns covering 40\u201350% of their body surface area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Governor called on the public to support the victims through blood donation while consoling bereaved families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u200eRepresenting the MTRH Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Wandera reaffirmed the Hospital\u2019s continued care to the victims and supporting the County Government\u2019s ongoing emergency response operations.
