MTRH Dental Unit Embraces New Technology
Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital’s (MTRH) Directorate of Dental Services is embracing new technologies and works on continuous improvement in line with global dental standards.
The Directorate offers a raft of surgical and non-surgical therapies comprising general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, periodontics, orthodontic therapy and treatment, restorative and prosthetic services, oral and maxillofacial surgery.
The Dental Directorate at MTRH has a fully- equipped Dental Laboratory that helps in fabricating a vast array of dental prosthesis (replacements). With the current COVID-19 pandemic, the Unit improved work place and client safety through emergency aerosolizing dental procedures with the use of portable Vacuum Stations as well as frequent surfaces disinfection.
As part of the support to the Universal Health Coverage (UHC) agenda, the Unit offers Community Oral Health function by providing dental primary clinical care including; screening of oral conditions investigations, diagnosis, preventive and promotive dental management and drug prescription.
The Unit is located on the first floor of MTRH main Out patient building.
