MTRH Launches COVID-19 Self-Screening Tool
Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital(MTRH) has today launched a COVID-19 self-screening tool which can be accessed through the USSD number *219#.
The tool will aid users to assess their symptoms and determine if it meets the case definition for a Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) test in their local or regional testing centres. The USSD output provides contacts to various County response teams.
The self-assessment tool is open to all Kenyans and is encouraged if one suspects that they were exposed to COVID-19 or are experiencing symptoms associated with COVID-19. The self-screening tool is only meant for use as case definition assessment aid and cannot be used for diagnosis purposes.
All the users will get a recommendation on what-to-do-next and linked to their local response teams through the various hotlines for cases requiring further assessment and testing.
