Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH), dispatched an assortment of drugs, Public Health Officers and Health Education & Health Promotion Team to Baringo County following an appeal by the County Health Department about malaria outbreak in Tirioko Ward, East Pokot Sub-County.

The County Health Department said they received reports of malaria upsurge on 22nd August 2019.

After dispatching a health response team to the affected areas, it was found out that four children had already died from the outbreak. The report also indicated that 200 other cases are being monitored by the medical team to prevent more deaths.

In its response that is in line with Universal Health Coverage (UHC), MTRH engaged the spirit of Corporate Social Responsibility by dispatching an assortment of drugs worth over Kshs. 100,000 and personnel to curb the malaria outbreak.
