MTRH WINS 2019 OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH & SAFETY PRACTICE AWARD

Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) has today 28th April, 2019 at a ceremony held in Thika, been declared the winner of the 2019 Occupational Health & Safety Practice in the Health Sector.

 

The achievement incorporates improvements in the Work Environment,  respecting and according to employees’ rights, and focusing on the patients and citizens at all times.

 

Occupational Health and Safety (OHS), is a yardstick of quality that is implemented in the Hospital to ensure work environment is conducive for employees so that results of work is not compromised.

 

While receiving this commendation,  MTRH CEO Dr. Wilson K. Aruasa  lauded the Hospital’s Occupational Safety & Health Committee chaired by the Director of Nursing Services, Mr. Titus Tarus for the great achievement.

 

The recognition comes high on the heels of the Certificate of accreditation to ISO 15189:2012 Medical Laboratory Standard awarded to the Hospital’s Laboratory Department.

 

Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, Hon. (Amb) Ukur Yatani presented the award  to the Hospital.
