Our CEO Dr. Wilson K. Aruasa MBS,EBS during a Q & A session at the NCDs Stakeholders Forum, Ciala Resort Kisumu County, on the importance of a well motivated Human Resources for Health (HRH).
While reiterating that HR is the most important resource in any organization whose management ought to be at Strategic level, Dr. Aruasa advocated for intrinsic staff motivation leading to excellent performance . This allows for staff recognition, acknowledgement and support in their work.
“Peer review mechanisms with Autonomy, Mastery and Purpose as the cornerstones of encouraging professionalism in work approaches. Whereas extrinsic work motivators like compensation packages be regarded as staff/work enablers and be based on job evaluations after reviewing all compensable factors (decision-making, span of control, qualifications, experience, nature of tasks, etc) as well as market surveys placing the package at or above the 50th industry percentile.”
He called for continuous consultations with staff, their representatives and departments for healthy labour relations with maximum work efficiency and productivity.
