MTRH marks World Day of Remembrance for Road Crash victims
MTRH together with other stakeholders led by NTSA, joined the rest of the world in marking the World Day of Remembrance for Road Crash victims on Sunday, 19th November 2023. The day is observed every third Sunday of November every year to remember the people who have lost their lives through road accidents. It is also a day to appreciate the first responders at accidents scenes and health care workers handling crash victims. Most importantly, it is a day to advocate for road safety on our roads to reduce road crashes and resultant injuries and deaths.
The participants started the walk at MTRH Chandaria building and proceeded to the Emergency Department to light candles in remembrance of road traffic victims. Thereafter, the members took road safety campaign messages through Eldoret CBD and concluded with speeches at NTSA Regional Office in Eldoret.
MTRH, through the support of the CEO Dr. Wilson K. Aruasa MBS, EBS, is a strong advocate of road safety and has consistently partnered with NTSA in the North Rift Region to advocate for road safety to contribute to the UN Decade of Action for Road Safety 2022-2023.
NTSA was represented by the Regional Director, Mr. Ezekiel Koech & MTRH CEO was represented by Mrs. Christine Tonui, Director of Health Adminstration.
