MTRH COLLEGE OF MEDICINE HOLDS 13TH GRADUATION CEREMONY

Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) College of Medicine (CoM) today, 13th December 2024, held its 13th graduation ceremony.

The College Director , Mr. Caleb Koech, noted that more than 4,600 specialists have gone through the College since inception and are currently working both nationally & internationally.

The Chief Guest during the ceremony Dr. Julia Songok, Dean, Moi University School of Medicine, said medical training institutions such as MTRH CoM are critical towards attainment of primary healthcare goals in Kenya.

She asked the graduands to strive to be professional and ethical as they join the healthcare workforce in the county or beyond.

While addressing the graduands, MTRH Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Philip Kirwa congratulated them for their dedication and effort, and urged them to always remain diligent, embrace hardwork and most importantly, be earnestly religious in their service to humanity.

Dr. Kirwa encouraged the graduands to be good ambassadors of MTRH as an institution while shunning workplace inhibitors that include alcoholism.

The CEO also urged all present that as the country is implementing the Universal Health Coverage – Taifa Care, all citizens should strive to register into the Social Health Authority (SHA), with the Hospital strategically placed to supporting registration in this region.

The class of 2024 had 323 students who qualified for various awards with a significant number of graduates in specialized programs (both Clinical Medicine and Nursing).
