MTRH Laboratory Attains 3rd Cycle ISO 15189:2022 Re-Accreditation
MTRH Directorate of Laboratory & Pathology Services has successfully attained its 3rd-cycle Re-Accreditation to ISO 15189:2022 by the Kenya Accreditation Service (KENAS) following a rigorous four-day assessment conducted from June, 23rd- 26th 2026.
The recommendation is for 100% of the scope applied that includes; Haematology, Chemistry, Immunology, Parasitology, Bacteriology, Mycobacteriology, Blood Transfusion and Histopathology.
This achievement reaffirms Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital’s commitment to delivering accurate, reliable, timely, and internationally recognized laboratory services.
Since earning its first KENAS accreditation in 2018, the Directorate has consistently sustained the highest standards of quality, technical competence, patient safety, and continual improvement in line with global best practices.
Director of Laboratory & Pathology Services, Florence Tum, attributed the achievement to the team’s dedication and unwavering pursuit of excellence.
Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Philip Kirwa, congratulated the laboratory team for sustaining internationally recognized standards and reinforcing MTRH’s position as a centre of excellence.
