Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital Marks World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims in Partnership with NTSA
Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) today joined the global community in commemorating the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims, an annual observance dedicated to honoring lives lost and those affected by road crashes.
The event was held in partnership with the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA), National Police Service and the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA), and other stakeholders including driving schools.
The commemoration began with a solemn candle-lighting ceremony at the MTRH Emergency Department, where families, survivors, staff, and invited guests paid tribute to victims of road traffic accidents.
Following the ceremony, participants engaged in a processional march from the Emergency Department to the TAC Centre – Central Primary School, Eldoret, symbolizing a collective journey toward advocacy, awareness, and improved road safety.
The event concluded with a renewed call for strengthened multi-agency cooperation, increased public adherence to road-safety rules, and greater investment in prevention strategies.
