Internal Medicine Directorates at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital comprises four Departments that include;
1. Out Patient Department/ Medical Wards
2. Renal Unit
3. Emergency Department
4. Cardiac Care Unit
OUT PATIENT SERVICES
Internal Medicine provides care in the form of injections, intravenous therapy, and careful monitoring. In the event that a patient requires hospitalization, the department has one hundred and ninety two (192) inpatient beds. The staff are fully equipped and prepared to manage the most critical and delicate patients. We have over forty specialized doctors who are dedicated to provide highly specialized and quality care.
We provide internationally recognized care in numerous fields, including oncology, as well as both basic and advanced medical research. We have dozens of clinicians at the top of their fields, including world class experts. In fact, many of our doctors are members of the Faculty of Medicine at Moi University School of Medicine. We collaborate with various hospitals and universities abroad in order to bring our patients the finest in multidisciplinary care.
MEDICAL WARDS
Admission to the General Wards of the hospital is fully covered by NHIF for investigations, treatment and Intensive Care Unit (NHIF terms and conditions apply).
Majority of the patients are not NHIF contributors hence do not benefit from it. We encourage all Kenyans to register with NHIF in order to benefit from it.
We understand that a patient is more than just their disease or injury – they are a whole person and have needs like anyone else. We provide for these needs by offering psychological and social work support in addition to medical care. We also offer comfort, education, and support for our patients’ families.
