Telephone Services

Telephone Services Department is a Department under the Directorate of Informatics; it was established in October 1998 known then as MTRH Switchboard. The current Telephone Services department has got 21 trained members of staff with two sections:

Telephone Exchange and IP PABX.

The department is headed by Mr Paul Sorgor deputized by Mr Emmanuel Rotich, IP PABX section is headed by Mr Hillary Chemoywo

The department play important role in ensuring there is effective communication for both internal and external clients.

THE FOLLOWING ARE OTHER KEY FUNCTIONS

TELEPHONE EXCHANGE SECTION DOES THE FOLLOWING ACTIVITIES

Telephone Switching: This is making and receiving of both internal and external calls. Testing of lines is also done to ensure they are in good working condition. At the same time fault lines are reported to technical team for restoration.

Facilitation of bills preparations: This is ensuring bills from services providers are prepared to facilitate timely payment.

Provision of Airtime: The Section prepares monthly Airtime issuance Schedule and makes necessary changes as approved by the CEO.

IP PABX SECTION

The Section provide technical services such as ensuring IP PABX is in good working condition on daily basis. They also do repairs in all telephone accessories.

Telephone Installation: The technical team does installations as per the requests from our clients.

Preventive Maintenance: Apart from doing repairs the section play important role by ensuring preventive maintenance on IP PABX System is done monthly.

Training; Telephone Service staff are trained in Occupational Test for Telephone Operators, Customer care and communication skills and Risk management courses, this has enable telephone staff to offer quality communication services to our customers and to cope up with increasing customer needs.
