Board Chair: MTRH Will Continue Focusing on Customer Service
The Chairperson of Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH), Mr. Sitoyo Lopokoiyit, MBS, has said that staff will continuously focus on customer experience which is part of the brand image associated with MTRH.
He affirmed that healthcare is part of the Government’s Bottom Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA) stating that MTRH will play a critical role in offering care to Kenyans from all walks of life.
In his remarks, MTRH CEO Dr. Philip Kirwa, called for teamwork among staff to ensure smooth healthcare service delivery.
They made the remarks on 12th June, 2024 during a Board Retreat session being held at a Naivasha hotel.
Dr. Kirwa: “We must all work collaboratively, every individual playing their role and team leaders guiding, and supporting members. This will ensure we remain committed to values and purpose of MTRH.”
He expressed gratitude to the Board for providing requisite resources, oversight and guidance which has led to excellence in service delivery.
The CEO also commended the Occupational Health and Safety Committee for being declared the best institution in Healthcare Sector on Occupational Health & Safety (OHS).
The award was presented to the CEO during the World Day for Safety and Health at work 2024 commemoration, held at Nyayo Gardens- Nakuru on 28th April, 2024.
Speaking at the same event, Dr. Michael Gichangi, alternate to the Principal Secretary, Ministry of Health at the MTRH Board, lauded MTRH leadership for continuously recording milestones noting that Board Retreat is a moment of reflection and realigning focus towards people-centred healthcare delivery.
Board Directors present at the Retreat include: Dr. Michael Gichangi, representative-Ministry of Health, Madam Peris Birichi, representative-Attorney General, Madam Judith Jerotich & Dr. Erneo Nyakiba- Independent Directors, Prof. Tenge Kuremu-Principal College of Health Sciences, Moi University and Mr. James Muchiri, representative State Department for Higher Education and Research.
The Chief of Party – AMPATH Uzima, Prof. S.Kimaiyo, Executive Director Research, Prof. W. Nyandiko, Prof. P. Nyongesa and Dr. J. Laktabai from Moi University School of Medicine are also attending the Retreat.
