ECSACOP Internal Medicine training program is an accredited postgraduate residency offered at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH).
The inaugural cohort was admitted in September 2021, comprising four (4) residents. One Resident has since relocated to Nairobi.
The training spans four (4) years and includes two key assessments: a mid-training examination at the end of the second year and a final exit examination at the conclusion of the fourth year.

Since its launch, the program has been led by two Program Directors. The founding Director, Dr. Wilson Sugut served from 2021 to 2024. He was succeeded by the current Program Director, Dr. Carolyne Lusweti, who is also serving a three-year term.
Clinical supervision is provided by a team of experienced consultants within the Directorate of Internal Medicine, while administrative support is managed by the MTRH CECSA Secretariat.
