‎MTRH Directorates and Departments Sign Performance Contracts with CEO‎

Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Philip Kirwa, yesterday, September 2, 2025, presided over the signing of the 22nd cycle of Performance Contracts.

‎The Directorates and Departments outlined their commitments; including activities lined up to improve service delivery in the 2025/2026 Financial Year.

‎This exercise follows the national performance contract negotiations for state corporations under the Ministry of Health held on July 30, 2025, and subsequently cascaded to MTRH Directorates and Departments on August 21–22, 2025.

‎The process was a culmination of weeks; target-setting, and strategic alignment with Vision 2030 and the Fourth Medium Term Plan (MTP IV).

‎MTRH’s priority areas for the 2025/2026 cycle include: strengthening healthcare service delivery, advancing infrastructure development, promoting research and training, enhancing customer satisfaction, and expanding resource mobilization.

‎In his address, Dr. Kirwa emphasized the importance of strict adherence to the Hospital’s mandate and policy guidelines.

‎”Staff must uphold service excellence, remain patient-centered, and embrace effective, compassionate communication with clients.”

‎During the event, Dr. Kirwa also introduced Dr. Andrew Wandera, Senior Director of Clinical Services, who assumed office effective September 1, 2025. Dr. Wandera, a distinguished Gastrointestinal Surgeon with many years of practice, joins the leadership team at a time when MTRH’s specialized healthcare services are in high demand across and beyond the 25 counties of Western Kenya.

‎MTRH reaffirms its role as a regional centre of excellence—committed to accountability, impactful service delivery, and continuous improvement.
